What are real cotton nappies?
Real nappies are breathable soft cotton nappies that absorb liquid
poo and wee naturally. Providing a safer option next to baby’s
skin. They can be folded in a variety of ways. The easiest is achieved
in a second! They are held in place by a nappy nipper (in the early
days some parents prefer to use them) and by the breathable waterproof
wrap that goes over the top. A flushable liner can be used to catch
any poo inside the nappy that is simply flushed away. They look
the same as Cotton Bottom nappies and Bambino Mio.
How does the service work?
Every week you will receive a delivery of clean nappies for your
baby. They will be laundered at high temperatures to NHS standards.
All you need to do is leave out your dirty nappies in the bag provided
and we will take them away leaving clean ones in their place.
We will provide you with the following for a one off charge
of £30.00:
- Large lidded bin (for storing all dirty nappies).
- Smaller lidded bucket (for baby’s room).
- 1 pack of Nappy Nippers.
- 4 newborn wraps.
- 1 roll of 100 flushable liners.
- First week’s supply of nappies.
The bag in which you receive your clean nappies should be emptied
and then placed in the large dirty nappy bin. This will then be
removed and left out each week for collection. An open hamper or
wicker basket is a good way to store your nappies in the nappy change
area. Do not leave them in the plastic bag as this could be a hazard
to children.
What do I get?
As described above – you will receive the necessary equipment
to start you off. Each week you will receive clean nappies depending
on how many you need. We do not limit the number of nappies you
receive as newborns often get through up to 70 a week. If you find
you have a stockpile – let us know and we will cut down on
the delivery. We will deliver for pregnant ladies a week before
your due date. Let us know when baby has arrived and we will commence!
We have found that most parents prefer to buy their own wraps. We
can supply these for you along with the flushable liners. Again
parents prefer to buy their own liners, as often they are not used
with liquid poo.
How much does it cost?
The nappy service cost is:
£9.99 per week (includes liners at 6 months as poo more solid)
How much do I save?
About £500 and a lot of landfill!
